KU 673 departed Kuwait terminal 4 for R/W 33R via taxiway W22/W1/W14/W11/E8/E1.
Taxi & runway conditions at Kuwait airport were dry. Both pilots complained during taxi out of Kuwait that taxiways are rough in general and particularly the part between taxiway E8 and E1. The flight landed in Dubai on runway 30L using low level braking and landing weight of 64,000 kgs. Weather during arrival: Reported windshear; TSRA-CB; W/V= 010/21 kts; Runway conditions wet. Aircraft taxied into (C) apron via exit K8 – then taxi way W and X.
The flight taxied out after a brief transit time for runway 30R Dubai airport via taxi way Y-L3-M-M13A with estimated takeoff weight of 67500 kgs. The conditions during taxi out were night and raining. Aircraft entered the runway and waited for takeoff clearance and the parking brake handle was set to on. Once the flight was cleared for takeoff, parking brake handle was released and power advanced. During this time both pilots felt aircraft was slow to move forward (accelerate), jerking and tending to veer to the left. The captain closed (retarded) the throttle to idle (at approx..20-30kts) and set the parking brakes. After assessing the situation including wheels inspection, the aircraft taxied back to the stand. At the final parking stand the engineer reported to the crew that all 4 main wheels are damaged. Preliminary flight operations report suggest the following probable cause:
Single brake system may have been locked out.
